A disappointing draw in a game where Laxey were mostly dominant but just could not convert the chances made.
The game started brightly for Laxey with Michael Fernandes having a good run and shot wide, and then later forcing a corner.
Matthew Wilkinson then played well to force a corner. He took the corner and Jamie Callister got to it with a fine header which hit the post.
Sean Gavin then had a good run to force another corner. Michael had a shot blocked and then we saw Sean with some great play which he finished with a shot diverted for a corner. Declan Cummins had a shot wide, and then Tom Smith in attacking mode forced a corner.
Lots of chances, but then against the run of play Ramsey scored with a breakaway, a cross and a goal scored at the back post with 21 minutes gone.
Three minutes later though, Laxey equalised. A cross by Michael was turned in by Dave Reynolds, marauding forward, to make it 1 - 1 on 24 minutes.
Sean had a shot saved, after a great interception by George Burrows, and Matt Skillicorn had a shot wide. Michael then picked up a booking for arguing.
Laxey then went ahead after a corner from Matty Wilkinson - Sean Gavin scored with a cheeky back heel to make it 2 - 1 with 37 minutes of the half gone.
Matty Wilkinson had a shot wide and Sean hooked a shot wide - so Laxey finished the half well on top, with plenty of chances, but not enough converted.
The second half started with Matty W having another shot wide after good play by him.
At the other end a Ramsey shot hit the Laxey bar.
Jonny Shields then via good play and a dummy set up Matty S who hit the post with a shot. In defence, Dave Reynolds blocked a shot with his body and Jamie had to clear a shot off the line.
Ramsey were getting back in the game and equalised, scoring after a corner to make it 2 - 2 with 15 minutes of the half gone.
Matty S had a shot blocked and diverted for a corner, Michael had another shot wide and a Declan shot was comfortably saved.
Ramsey were pressing for a winner - and Andy Ball made a brilliant finger tip save onto the bar to prevent what looked like a certain goal. Matty S came off for Cian Brock and Ramsey nearly got the winner again when a Ramsey forward shot over the bar when through and clear.
Laxey had lost their way in terms of goalscoring, despite plenty of chances - the corner count shows how much we were pressing. Ramsey competed throughout. It is a while since we had a comprehensive victory against Ramsey, who seem to have become a bit of a bogey team for Laxey.
Players who stood out were Jonny Shields, Matty Wilkinson, Tom Smith and Declan, but the Greens in the Valley Man of the Match is
