Hospital Cup Final

Laxey 2 Castletown 0

Laxey completed a Cup double for the season with victory in the Hospital Cup Final on Sunday to add to their earlier Railway Cup triumph. The 2-0 triumph over Castletown wrapped up a very successful season for the Greens which will be remembered for a long time to come.

The game itself was by no means a classic but Laxey were always comfortable against a poor Castletown side. Two goals, one at the beginning of each half, from Man of the Match John Callow wrapped up a victory which could have been even more emphatic with almost every outfield player going close on at least one occasion.

I won’t bore everyone with a detailed match report as I am sure you have all read the Isle of Man Examiner’s excellent report.

The Cup winning squad were : David Thomas, Gary Williams, Rob Sorby, Juan Kinnish, Oliver Theobald, Jim Travers, Michael Cowin, Barry Gaffney, Paul Thomas, Ross Williamson, John Callow, Keith Brown, Stephen Cretney, Peter Moore
